Which drivers took part in the film Le Mans?
The filming of the 1971 movie "Le Mans " led to the recruitment of 41 professional drivers. There were 6 former/future winners of the 24h of Le Mans. Important names like Jacky Ickx, Richard Attwood, Gérard Larrousse, Jürgen Barth, Masten Gregory and Derek Bell. An important detail that Steve McQueen was determined to convey in this film. The aim was to give viewers a real feel for what the drivers experience during the 24 hours of Le Mans. As the motorsport seasons are long, the drivers also had to manage their sporting lives alongside the filming. For this purpose, the American actor provided his own aircraft to take the drivers to the races.
