Do you know the story of Ed Hugus?
Ed Hugus was an American racing driver in the 50s and 60s. In the course of his career, he competed several times in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. One edition stands out in particular. In 1965, as a substitute driver, he found himself behind the wheel for a stint in the middle of the night. However, when a substitute driver replaces a regular driver, the latter is no longer allowed back on the road. This action could result in the car's disqualification. But that year, the stewards missed the point. The regular drivers continued the race and even won. In the end, Ferrari won, but not Ed Hugus.
