Driving gloves aren't just a fashion accessory. Almost compulsory at the beginning of the 20th century, they are still very useful today. If you'd like to know what driving gloves and mittens are really for, you can read our article by here.
DESCRIPTION
Pair of driving gloves for car racers or classic car drivers. These gloves are designed by French brand Acaba and are made in Italy in small sewing workshops, entirely by hand. These lambskin gloves have a less smooth than normal appearance, similar to elephant skin. These gloves are unlined, which allows for better ventilation in hot weather.
WHICH LEATHER TO CHOOSE FOR YOUR GLOVES?
On the market for driving gloves, there are several price and quality ranges, most often differentiated by the type of leather used. First of all, there's pigskin leather, which, with its pronounced grain, tends to have fairly deep pores. It's a rough leather that's not ideal for making gloves. However, it is the least expensive option.
Then there's deer leather, which, when properly tanned, will leave very few extra marks. Its rigidity and appearance give it a rustic image that some may like. It's a good quality leather for driving gloves, with a rather high price positioning.
Then there's the famous Pécari, which comes from a wild South American pig. In concrete terms, Pécari is the Rolce Royce of glove-making. With its very soft feel, it brings great suppleness to the product. However, you'll have to pay a certain price for it.
And last but not least, lambskin. This is a softer skin, ideal for glove-making. What's more, its grain makes it easier to color, and it ages beautifully.
It's in lambskin that 1923Autos offers this pair of brown gloves, similar to elephant skin. Its supple leather will enable you to grip your steering wheel without sweating in summer and avoid icy steering wheels in winter. What's more, their sober, elegant brown color is the perfect complement to your classic car.
