The TJL 3 is an automatic watch designed as a tribute to Jacques Laffite, inspired by the 1979 Formula 1 season, in particular the South American tour known as the "temporada".

That season, the Ligier team, after a complicated year in 1978, returned with the all-new JS11, featuring a V8 Cosworth engine and a chassis optimized for ground-effect aerodynamics. Jacques Laffite and Patrick Depailler won the first two races, with two victories for Laffite.

Despite a promising start, financial constraints and Depailler's accident complicate the rest of the championship, but the season remains a resounding demonstration of the competitiveness of French drivers and teams in Formula 1. Assembly in France, carried out in Bordeaux.

Le Boîtier

The ARPIEM Tribute case is made of 316L stainless steel, guaranteeing robustness and longevity. Its water resistance is 10 ATM, i.e. to a depth of 100 meters. The crown has a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating, renowned for its exceptional resistance to heat and wear.

The Dial

The dial is inspired by car gauges of the 60s, with its "panda" sub-dials. The indexes on the main dial are reminiscent of rev-counter graduations, reinforcing the homage to the automotive world.

The Movement

The watch is equipped with the Swiss RONDA Z50 movement, a guarantee of precision and reliability.

The Curved Sapphire Crystal Glass

The crystal is made of domed sapphire crystal, a material renowned for its unequalled strength and almost absolute resistance to scratches, except by diamonds. Its domed design adds a vintage touch to the watch.

Triple-layer dial design

Thanks to its triple-layer construction, the dial offers a refined volume reminiscent of the "sandwich" chassis of pre-carbon racing cars.

Revamped tachometer

Revamped with modernity, its traditionally irregular hour-markers are here harmoniously arranged in the manner of diving watches. Speeds are legible for every 5-second interval.
