The TJL 3 is an automatic version of the watch dedicated to Jacques Laffite, inspired by the 1979 F1 season, in particular the South American tour known asthe "temporada".

That year, the Ligier team, after a difficult season in 1978, arrived with the new JS11 car, equipped with a V8 Cosworth engine and a chassis optimized for ground effect. Jacques Laffite and Patrick Depailler dominated the first two races, with two wins for Laffite.

Despite a good start to the season, budgetary problems and Depailler 's accident complicate the rest, but this year marks a demonstration of the competitiveness of French drivers and teams in F1.

The ARPIEM RACEMATIC is a watch designed with a 316L stainless steel case, a non-magnetic and corrosion-resistant material thanks to its low carbon content (less than 0.35%). This feature guarantees exceptional durability, complemented by water-resistance to 10 ATM and a screw-down crown for adjustment.

The watch's bezel features a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating, a material combining the hardness of diamond and the structure of graphite, widely used in industry for its remarkable properties. This coating gives the watch enhanced resistance to shock and wear, surpassing that of a conventional PVD treatment. The dial features a triple-layer design, giving it elegant volume. The sub-dials, or "pandas", are inspired by 1960s car gauges, while the main indexes recall the graduations of a tachometer.

This layered architecture also recalls the alloy chassis of racing cars before the advent of carbon. The heart of the watch is powered by a MIYOTA calibre 9132 automatic movement, mounted on 26 jewels, with a frequency of 28,800 Hz and a power reserve. The domed sapphire crystal, reputed to be one of the most scratch-resistant materials, adds avintage touch to the watch. This glass, rated 9 on the Mohs scale, is surpassed only by diamond. What's more, it is treated with six layers of anti-reflective coating, optimizing legibility by reducing light refraction. The watch's tachometer has been redesigned with an index layout inspired by diving watches, allowing speed to be read off for every 5-second interval. Finally, the transparent sapphire crystal caseback reveals the rotor of the automatic movement, decorated with Jacques Laffite's emblematic helmet.
